You have a new puppy... now what?
Making your puppy a part of your family is going to take more than just love, especially as he/she gets older. So why not get some help to turn puppy love into a lifetime bond with your new best friend? Puppy school shows you how to train your puppy, and teaches your pup how to behave around people as well as other dogs.

From the first moment your puppy enters your home he is learning new habits. This means you are training your puppy all the time, whether you want to or not! Puppy school gives you the tools to teach good habits instead of bad ones and raise the happiest dog you can.
Our puppy classes show you how to handle all the typical puppy issues such as chewing, toilet training and separation anxiety. In class, you will teach your pup basic manners, how to walk nicely on a lead and to obey commands like sit, down, stay, leave it (don’t steal food), hush (no barking), come.

The most important part of any puppy class is socialising. The classes allow puppies lots of off-leash playtime. They get to practise their social skills and bite inhibition, which means they learn to play without biting too hard! Both of these skills are essential for growing into a well-mannered dog.
In class, there are also well-socialised adult dogs that monitor the puppies and provide good doggy boundaries when things get too rowdy. These dogs are like stand-in mothers who provide healthy discipline for the puppies in their own language.

Preventing problems from the start is always easier (and much more fun) than fixing them when your dog is older. And giving your dog some fun-filled basic training as a puppy prepares him for learning any new, more advanced skills later on.

Hour-long lessons are taught once a week for 6 weeks in Knysna and pre-booking is essential, so please contact Karis for the next available training schedule in your area.
